DRE’ P Born Andre’ Parris, Dre’ P has been writing poetry and lyrics
since the age of ten. It wasn’t until he turned 23 that he realized
his full potential after he met lil Wayne in a Miami studio and
the two battled bar for bar, as he earned the respect of the Cash
Money Records star. Dre’ P has always loved music hip-hop in general
as he grew up listening to the likes of the Notorious B.I.G, Wu-Tang
Clan, Nas, LL. Cool J, Snoop Dogg and many others.
Andre’ moved around very often in an unstable home, going from coast
to coast at the drop of a dime. He has lived in such places as Brooklyn,
Los Angeles, Miami, and Las Vegas to name a few. With all of this
relocating he listened to a variety of hip-hop.
Dre’
P was raised in the mist of gang bangers, drug dealers and pimps,
so he was very familiar with the street life. Though he was apart
of this life he always felt education was important, and he had
a deep passion for sports. This passion led him to earn a football
scholarship to Trinity University, in Deerfield, Illinois. As Andre’
was starting to shine athletically he had to leave school to focus
on family issues. After leaving school Dre’ P began to hone his
lyrical skills, writing day and night and performing in several
showcases in the Miami area. In 2004 Dre’ P was offered a recording
contract by recording giant Death Row Records, but turned down the
deal for financial reasons.
Right now he is held in regard as one of the hottest rap artists
in Miami. With thought provoking rhymes, and a top-notch delivery
"Da Kid", has been making waves in the streets with his first mix
tape "Get Down or Lay Down". With a street mentality and the talent
to match, it’s only a matter of time before Dre catapults into the
nationwide rap scene.
